How to apply
Fill out the form
DS-11 (in person) or DS-82 (renew by mail). Download from travel.state.gov.
Get your photo
Passport photo requirements: 2x2 inches, plain white/off-white background.
Gather documents
Proof of citizenship (birth cert, naturalization cert), ID, and fee payment.
Submit
In person at acceptance facility or passport agency. Or mail for renewals.
